I know why you're here. You’re here to find out which Smart Link platform is worth your time (and money) as a music artist or manager. Whether you’re trying to get fans to pre-save your next drop, push streams through paid ads, or just stop throwing away traffic without tracking it, this breakdown covers it all.

We compared the top four: Feature.fm, Linkfire, Toneden, and Hypeddit. Here's what we found.

What are Smart Links?

Smart Links are landing pages that collect all your streaming, social, and merch destinations in one shareable URL. They're essential for tracking conversions, collecting fan data, and looking professional when sharing music online. But not all Smart Links are created equal.

Below is a side-by-side look at which platform offers what. ✅ means it’s available, ❌ means it’s not, and 🟡 means limited or flawed in some way.

🥇 Best Overall: Feature.fm

Why it wins:
It does (almost) everything. From bio links and bounce redirects to territory-based sorting and fan messaging, Feature.fm gives you real tools that can power your entire funnel, from discovery to fan retention.

Pros:

  • Clean interface

  • DSP-focused tools

  • Full data collection with Pre-saves

  • Fan messaging + email integrations

  • Bounce redirects for loss prevention

Cons:

  • Analytics are just "good" — not great

  • Still missing direct streaming insights like Linkfire

Personal Note:
I’ve used Feature.fm for over a decade. In the early days, support was slow. That’s no longer the case. Old links I bought still work, stats included.

🧠 Best for Data: Linkfire

Why it’s powerful:
Linkfire is your go-to if you care deeply about attribution and understanding which links actually led to streams. It offers deep integration with DSPs and returns data most other platforms don’t, including some streaming metrics.

Pros:

  • Extensive DSP support

  • Streaming insights across Pandora, YouTube, and Apple Music

  • Good for enterprise campaigns

Cons:

  • Historically painful customer experience

  • Contract terms can be confusing

  • Limited integration with email systems

  • No access to Tag Manager or Google Analytics

Personal Note:

Great platform, poor experience. I lost all my links after canceling because I didn’t want to pay out a contract I thought was monthly (it's like hitting the cancel button on Netflix and being required to pay for 3 more months). No option to upgrade from the dashboard during a trial - experienced this testing a new version of the service years later. It’s more corporate than creator-friendly.

⚠️ Toneden: Fell Off

Why it’s not recommended:

Once a decent URL shortener with fan-gating actions. Now? Unreliable. The platform suffered a massive issue that killed thousands of links and didn’t notify users.

Pros:

  • Fan actions like follow, play to unlock, save, etc.

  • URL shortening and custom CTAs

Cons:

  • Lost credibility due to technical breakdown

  • Limited store support

  • No streaming or email integrations

Personal Note:

They killed their domain without notice. My links all broke. Never again.

Hypeddit: Bare Minimum

Why you might use it:

You're broke and need something free to test an ad. That’s it. Hypeddit gets the job done in the most minimal way possible, and punishes you if you ever cancel.

Pros:

  • Offers basic pre-save and contest tools

  • Free option available

  • Email capture on Pre-save

Cons:

  • Hides performance data if you cancel

  • No CTA customization

  • Doesn’t support full analytics or integrations

Personal Note:

Functional, but stingy. You’ll get just enough to run ads and no more.

Final Thoughts

If you’re serious about growing your streams, collecting real fan data, and building a system that scales, Feature.fm is your best bet. If you’re a data nerd or running high-level ad campaigns, Linkfire might edge out for you — just be prepared to deal with their old-school structure and the cost.

As for Toneden and Hypeddit? Think twice before you build anything long-term on either.
